Viv’s 100 club
Our 100 club was started by a former patient Vivienne Hepworth, Viv to her friends. Viv joined HCCN’s fundraising committee bringing the many fund raising skills she had learnt as Captain of a local golf club and soon had us whipped into shape and organised.
Sadly Viv died not long after setting the club up for us and it seemed a fitting tribute to name it after her.
She was a fun loving person, and keen to make giving fun. She used to tell us more people will give if there is a good pay back for them. You’ll know if you are already in the club that winning the monthly draw is very pleasurable and the extra payment at Christmas time is very useful.
Our club is run for us now by Anne Fleming. Anne worked in pharmacy at Hinchingbrooke before her retirement and now keeps in touch with us all by managing the 100 Club. Anne says the club works best when it has 100 players. The payouts are better and of course the charity receives more funding.
We have a some places left so if you would like to join you are very welcome.

Deciding which charity to support is a difficult subject at the best of time but when someone we love dies it becomes an even more impossible decision.
Supporting Hunts Community Cancer Network allows us to continue our many important projects and gives us the scope to look for more ways in helping and supporting cancer patients and their family’s locally. Please support us in memory of your loved ones.
Leaving a legacy that will help the lives of others is a special gift. Without the kindness of those people who make donations in their wills much of the work that we do cannot be funded. At HCCN charity we are committed to making the lives local residents living with cancer that much easier providing care, transport and advice. No matter how small all donations are really appreciated and important.
There are several ways that you could help us through different types of legacy:
- Residuary Gift – A gift of the remainder of the estate after all other bequests have been made and debts cleared.
- Pecuniary Gift – This is a gift of a fixed sum of money in your will. The value of pecuniary legacies will decrease over time, as the cost of living increases.
- Specific Gift – A particular named item left as a gift in your will – for example a piece of jewellery.
- Contingent Gift – A gift in your will that depends upon the occurrence of an event which may or may not happen
How businesses can get involved
Charity of the year.
If you work for a business or company we would like the opportunity to visit and ask the management and workers to adopt HCCN as their charity of the year.
Give as you earn.
We would like to speak to companies to ensure their employees are able to benefit from the tax efficiencies of Give as you Earn (GAYE) schemes – where money is taken direct from their wages / salaries before tax deductions.
Sponsorship of events
With our bigger events we sometimes need financial support and we approach companies to ask for sponsorship. It is always nice for both parties to form a social / business relationship and we will always offer publicity opportunities when marketing the event.
